After aย month-longย increase in coronavirus cases coinciding with Spring Break schedules,ย Floridaโsย COVID-19 trend improved forย a third straight day.ย That's an improvement of about 200 cases per day over a week ago.ย
On a related note, 10% of Floridaโs population has nowย tested positive forย COVID-19ย as 2.15 million Floridiansย have tested positive forย the coronavirusย since the onset of the pandemic.ย There have been 34,712 deaths attributed to the virus,ย approximately 1.6% of all Floridians diagnosed with the virus have died.ย
Over 8.3 million Floridians have been vaccinated with at least a first dose of a COVID-19ย vaccine. This includes over 5.4 million whoโve now completed a vaccine series.ย
Politicoย is reporting a deal between Governor DeSantis andย the Seminole Tribe regarding gaming has been reached and is pending legal review. If true, itโs expected this would settle the Seminole Compact and would bring sports betting to Florida. Inย 2019 DeSantis and tribal leaders were rumored to have been close to a deal prior to the end of the session.ย
